Wugofski Named Handmark Chief Technology Officer

Mobile media leader focuses on global opportunities

KANSAS CITY, MO (July 9, 2007) - Reflecting its success as a global leader in the mobile content industry, Handmark today announced the appointment of Ted Wugofski as Chief Technology Officer (CTO).

Wugofski will be responsible for the timely delivery of quality products and services to Handmark end-consumer customers and global industry constituents. In this new position, Ted manages resources at the Handmark world headquarters in Kansas City, Missouri and Dallas, Texas as well as the company's European development teams. Ted reports to Handmark CEO, August Grasis. Wugofski adds to the already impressive strength of the Handmark management team.

Wugofski holds more than twenty patents and is the creator or co-creator of many standards for web, mobile, interactive television, and electronic program guides. While the Chief Technologist at Openwave Systems and Phone.com Ted drove standards for XHTML, XHTML Mobile Profile, CSS Mobile Profile, XML Events, and ECMAScript Compact Edition. Ted was the Chief Architect at Gateway Computer; he was vice president of Boingo Wireless, and the CTO at Action Engine Corporation. He is also the author of several books used as standard reference for developers working with XHTML, WAP, and XML. Most recently Ted was the co-founder and CTO of Boston based 8th Ring.
