Elverson, PA. Whitford, makers of the world's largest, most complete line of fluoropolymer coatings, has hired Richard Hobbs as Managing Director for its North American office.
Rich comes to Whitford with more than 25 years of experience in diverse manufacturing and distribution environments, most recently as a General Manager for Morgan Technical Ceramics, a manufacturer of advanced ceramic components. In that role, Rich had responsibility for multiple US manufacturing locations serving a global customer base in medical, aerospace, automotive, semiconductor and consumer markets.
Rich replaces Mike Miller who, after many years in the same role, decided to retire, although he will continue on a part-time basis as a consultant.
Rich previously served as Director of Operations for Dynavac, a manufacturer of high-vacuum systems for thin-film deposition, space simulation, and custom-engineered applications for a dynamic cross-section of markets and industries worldwide.
In addition to manufacturing and distribution operations, his areas of expertise include strategic sourcing, sales, new business development, ISO, Six Sigma and Lean Manufacturing.
He earned a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from Penn State, and later an MBA in Operations from Temple University in Philadelphia, PA.
