August 2011, Elverson, PA. Ed Sammond joins Whitford, makers of the world's largest, most complete line of fluoropolymer coatings, as business development manager for Flexible Finishes in North America.
Ed has more than 25 years' experience in automotive technical and business areas, including development, formulation, regulation, color matching, specification and validation testing, procedural requirements and marketing/sales for interior and exterior automotive coatings, specializing in plastics. He spent six years overseas, dividing his time between Japan and Europe. His time abroad helped him to understand international business methods and culture, as well as become fluent in Japanese.
Ed graduated with a Bachelor of Science with a double major in Chemical Engineering and Chemistry, and a double minor in biology and history from Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology.
Whitford coatings are used on over 100 car models in 20 countries.
