Westinghouse Electric Co.
P.O. Box 355
Pittsburgh, PA, 15230 0355
USA

Press release date: February 25, 2008

PITTSBURGH, Feb. 25 -- Westinghouse Electric Company recently announced that it has teamed with Continuum Dynamics Inc. (CDI) to provide steam dryer analysis solutions for nuclear power plant customers operating boiling water reactors (BWRs). Coupled with Westinghouse and Toshiba's existing BWR steam dryer analysis, repair, and design knowledge, the new partnership with CDI will allow Westinghouse to provide a complete portfolio of steam dryer analysis, mitigation, repair and replacement options for boiling water reactors.

In business since 1979, CDI is a leading-edge provider of engineering services and technical solutions for government and industry, mostly related to acoustic and flow analyses associated with the Nuclear Power and Aerospace Industries.

"This is especially significant for us because the BWRVIP (Boiling Water Reactor Vessel and Internals Project) -- the industry users group focused on BWR vessel internals -- has selected CDI's technology as the standard for addressing acoustical analysis required to implement extended power uprates in a BWR plant," said Nick Liparulo, vice president, Westinghouse Engineering Services. "We are very much pleased with this addition to our portfolio of customer-focused engineering services solutions."

This new teaming arrangement between Westinghouse and CDI will provide the following services to our current and new customers:

o screening analysis for acoustic resonance issues; o main steam line strain gauge installation methods; o steam dryer load definition o scale model testing methods and equipment; o analysis method using acoustic circuit model algorithm; o steam dryer stress/structural analysis methods; o limit curve generation for power ascension; o real-time uprate monitoring software; and o acoustic side branch mitigation product - damper methodology.

Westinghouse Electric Company, a Toshiba Group company, is the world's pioneering nuclear power company and is a leading supplier of nuclear plant products and technologies to utilities throughout the world. Today, Westinghouse technology is the basis for approximately one-half of the world's operating nuclear plants.
