TLX Gold, available in 1200mm width and 10m lengths, has been created by Web Dynamics, a specialist firm in conserving energy within the home. This latest product combines an all-in-one multi-foil insulation which is vapour-permeable, with a heavy duty breather membrane, therefore ensuring it is both airtight and breathable.
The design consists of three layers; the top heavy duty membrane, a centre core of Polyethylene Terephthalate (PET) wadding (used for it's strength and impact resistant qualities) which is interleaved with reflective films, and a bottom layer which reflects infra-red rays through a layer of reflective film. This serves to keep all layers breathable, allowing moisture to pass through, and provides an effective solution to keeping the heat in and the rain out.
The benefits of the TLX Gold membrane are numerous. Not only can it be used to upgrade an existing insulation package, it also replaces underlay and acts as an air resistant barrier to the wind. It is lightweight, making it easier and quicker to install and the technology behind it controls heat loss through the management of radiation, conduction and convection. The space taken up by this insulation is minimal, as it is stapled to the rafters and replaces the previous felt, thus retaining living or attic space.
