Wilmington, MA, 01887
USA

Press release date: January 17, 2007

Watson-Marlow Bredel, the leading manufacturer of peristaltic pumps, will showcase its extensive line of peristaltic pumps for laboratory duties at PITTCON 2007 on February 25-March 2, 2007 at McCormick Place Convention Center in Chicago, Illinois at Booth #3792.

Watson-Marlow Bredel will feature its comprehensive range of instrument-quality OEM peristaltic pumps as well as their versatile range benchtop pumps for the laboratory. Applications include sample preparation, dispensing and auto-analysis equipment. The pump is suited for pumping samples, reagents and waste streams out of the machine.

Sales engineers will be on hand to answer questions about the pumps and talk about customization options that can be achieved through the Engineered Products Group.

When long-life Bioprene tubing is used, the pumps will be accurate for tens of thousands of machine cycles without the need for replacement. Unlike Diaphragm pumps these peristaltic pumps can be easily serviced simply by replacing the tubing. Replacing the tube can be done in a few seconds by minimally trained personnel without tools. They offer a cost-effective alternative to syringe pumps, and can pump continuously without the draw-back step of a syringe pump. When stopped the pump acts as a valve greatly simplifying the plumbing arrangements.

The pumps can pump against a vacuum of up to 33 in-Hg (860mmHg) and are self priming and dry-running. Since the fluid comes in contact only with the tubing the design is sanitary, and can be cleaned by replacing the tubing.

About Watson-Marlow Bredel Watson-Marlow Bredel Pumps is the leading manufacturer of peristaltic pumps. For over 50 years they have been solving fluid handling problems with peristaltic pumping technology. Products are manufactured in an ISO 9001:2000 facility.
