Company earns recognition for data collection hardware and barcode labeling software
Plano, Texas January 15, 2008 -- Wasp Barcode Technologies (http://www.waspbarcode.com/) has been selected by Business Solutions magazine as a 2009 Best Channel Vendor in two categories: data collection hardware and barcode labeling software. The award was based on the magazine's survey of 1,600 value-added resellers (VARs).
"Wasp Barcode Technologies has demonstrated a tremendous accomplishment in being recognized as a Business Solutions Best Channel Vendor for 2009," said Jim Roddy, president of Business Solutions. "While competing in a tough category with many much larger companies, Wasp proved that a smaller vendor with passion and a channel-centric attitude can still win the hearts and minds of resellers."
For the survey, VARs that subscribe to the magazine were asked to rank vendors on seven criteria: service and support, channel friendly, channel program, product features, product reliability, product innovation and adequate VAR margins. Vendors in the top 15 percent of each category earned a Best Channel Vendor designation. To ensure statistical accuracy, scores were verified by Penn State University.
"The small business segment that we serve is highly influenced by the recommendation of local VARs, so we consider VARs to be key partners in our business," said Tom O'Shea, vice president and general manager for Wasp. Wasp earned particularly high marks in the areas of product features, product reliability, and service and support.
