WEG now offers an additional line of rolled steel motors for a broad range of industrial applications.
ATLANTA, Georgia, April, 15, 2008 - WEG Electric Motors Corp., a leading global supplier of motors, drives and transformers, has developed a new family of 3-phase motors with rolled steel bodies and cast iron endbells for general industrial use. These new rolled steel motors are available in twelve standard sizes with ratings from 1 to 20HP for operation at 230 or 460 VAC mains.
"Our customers have been asking us to develop an alternative to our popular case iron motors for use in applications where a light weight motor is required, without sacrificing WEG quality or reliability," explained Gerardo Elias, Marketing Manager - Motors. "Our new rolled steel family of motors meets these requirements, while establishing a new value proposition, with list prices typically 9% less than equivalent cast iron motors."
