New Site Details Company's Commitment to Corporate Social Responsibility for Customers, Partners, Local Communities and Shareholders

LAKE FOREST, Calif., Jan. 23 / -- Western Digital Corp. (NYSE:WDC) today announced that it has launched a new section of its corporate Web site detailing its ongoing global citizenship practices. The site offers WD's broad network of customers, partners, local communities and shareholders a comprehensive understanding of the company's commitment to growing its business and operations in a sustainable way, protecting the environment, engaging its workforce and investing in the communities where it operates. "Conducting our business with integrity, investing in our employees and in the communities where we work and live, and preserving our natural resources is at the core of WD's corporate philosophy," said John Coyne, president and CEO of WD. "We believe that we are stewards of the resources entrusted to us, and we have been able to deliver consistently strong returns to our shareholders by operating our business in a manner that reflects this belief."

WD conducts business worldwide, including major operations in California, Malaysia and Thailand, employing over 41,000 people and producing revenue of more than $6 billion annually.

Recently, WD joined the Electronics Industry Citizenship Coalition (EICC) to help set industry standards in corporate citizenship. The EICC consists of more than 30 companies that have adopted the EICC Code of Conduct and come together to improve working conditions and environmental stewardship throughout the electronics supply chain.
