WAGO WALL-NUTS Connectors Undergo Extreme Testing

GERMANTOWN, WI - March 2009 - WAGO Corporation recently subjected the 773 Series WALL-NUTS(TM) PUSH WIRE® connectors to demanding shock and vibration sequence testing. The testing, which adhered to IEC standards, verified WALL-NUTS(TM) contact continuity (no current interruptions during testing) and housing integrity (no physical damage) under extreme conditions.

In-house testing confirmed WALL-NUTS'(TM) suitability to a broad range of splicing applications such as HVAC and transportation installations including wiring systems for rail car applications, truck body/trailer applications and other enclosed vehicle wiring systems.

IEC and Germanischer Lloyd testing procedures and guides that were followed include: Vibration strain "Random vibration" (IEC 61373:1999); Vibration 5 Hz-150 Hz, 4 g (GL VI - Part 7, Chapter 2, GL 2003); Shock test "Environmental testing - Single Shock" 50 g, 11 ms (IEC 60068-2-27:2008); and Vibration 5 Hz-2000 Hz, 5 g (IEC 60068-2-6:2007).

WAGO is the leader in spring pressure connection technology that eliminates loose wires resulting from vibration and temperature cycling, while providing highly reliable, corrosion-resistant and maintenance-free connections. Products: DIN-rail, PCB and chassis mount terminal blocks; signal conditioners; the WAGO-I/O-SYSTEM and more.
