Morganville, New Jersey, April 26, 2011 - Vytran, an innovative supplier of optical fiber splicing and processing solutions, has hired Giorgio Giaretta as Vice President of Research and Development. Giaretta brings to Vytran more than 15 years of experience developing innovative products for the telecommunications and display industries.

"Giorgio Giaretta has a successful history of managing technical teams and complex engineering projects, while maintaining a clear vision of corporate goals," said Jean-Michel Pelaprat, Vytran president and CEO. "We are happy to welcome him to Vytran where his charter includes overseeing our technical groups worldwide and evolving our products, technologies and processes so that we continue to provide our customers with best-in-class solutions for optical fiber splicing and glass processing."

Prior to joining Vytran, Giaretta was a senior member of the technical staff at Dolby Laboratories where, among his achievements, he led the optical development of a grade-one monitor for the professional movie and broadcast industry. Giaretta has also been vice president of system engineering for Novalux, Inc., director of research at Finisar Corporation, and director of product/system engineering at Bandwidth9. Giaretta holds a Ph.D. and an M.S. in electrical engineering from Stanford University.
