Vision Engineering Co-Sponsors IPC Apex Hand Soldering Competition
New Milford, CT Vision Engineering Inc. will co-sponsor the third annual IPC APEX Hand Soldering Competition, being held at the Mandalay Bay Resort and Convention Center March 25-26, 2014. This year’s challenge will be to build a functional electronics assembly in a 30-minute time period. The IPC World Championship will be held on March 27th in the same location.
IPC Master Instructors will judge assemblies on soldering in accordance with IPC-A-610E, overall electrical functionality of assembly and the speed upon which the assembly was produced.
Cash prizes of $500, $250 and $100 will be awarded to the top three finalists at the close of the competition on March 26. In addition to receiving the cash award, the winner will move on to the IPC World Championship to face off with winners from IPC hand soldering competitions from around the world, including the United States, Asia and Europe. The winner of the IPC Hand Soldering World Championship will be awarded a $1,000 cash prize.
The hand soldering competitions will be held on the show floor at the IPC booth #1913, Vision Engineering will be located one aisle away at booth #2116. Stop by for a hands on demonstration of the Mantis microscope that will be used in the competition.
