Vishay Intertechnology's PRAHT Series of High-Precision Thin Film SMD Wraparound Resistor Arrays Receives 2012 Product of the Year Award From Electronic Products Magazine
MALVERN, Pa. - Vishay Intertechnology, Inc. (NYSE: VSH) today announced that its PRAHT series of high-precision thin film SMD wraparound resistor arrays has been honored with a 2012 Product of the Year Award from Electronic Products magazine.
Presented annually, the Product of the Year Awards are bestowed by the editors of Electronic Products magazine on those new products they feel are among the most significant of the thousands introduced during the year. Their selection is based on a significant advance in technology or its application, innovation in design, or improvement in price and performance. The Vishay Sfernice PRAHT series was selected for its performance in high-temperature down-hole and aeronautics applications.
The Electronic Products 2012 Product of the Year Award winners are announced in the January 2013 issue of the magazine with a brief description of each product. Vishay's PRAHT four-resistor networks feature an operating temperature range from - 55 °C to + 215 °C with a maximum storage temperature up to + 230°C, an industry first for any resistor array built on thin film technology. The devices combine their high-temperature performance with load-life stability of 0.7% after 2,000 hours at rated power and + 215°C, as well as tight TCR of 10 ppm/°C, TCR tracking to 2 ppm/°C, and a ratio tolerance down to 0.05%.
Available with 1 mm, 1.35 mm, or 1.82 mm pitches, the PRAHT series features resistance values from 10 W to 2 MW and power ratings from 10 mW to 20 mW per resistor. The devices are ideal for oil level and pressure sensors, and for temperature measurement in down-hole extraction tools and aeronautics engine and braking systems.
