Vishay's 45 V Rectifiers and Non-Magnetic MLCCs Win EDN China 2012 Innovation Awards

MALVERN, Pa. - Vishay Intertechnology, Inc. (NYSE: VSH) today announced that its 45 V TMBS® Trench MOS Barrier Schottky rectifiers and VJ Non-Magnetic Series MLCCs have won EDN China 2012 Innovation Awards. Presented at an award ceremony on Nov. 15 in Shanghai, the 45 V TMBS rectifiers received a Best Product Award in the Power Device and Module category while the VJ Non-Magnetic Series was honored with a Leading Product Award in the Passive Components and Sensors category.

The EDN China Innovation Awards were introduced in 2005 to recognize achievements in the design of ICs and related products in the Chinese market. This year, 128 products from 71 companies entered the competition in nine technology categories. EDN China's online readers nominated the short-listed products, with a group of technical experts and senior EDN editors selecting the final winners.

Vishay's 45 V TMBS rectifiers include the dual-chip V(B,F)T1045CBP, V(B,F)T2045CBP, V(B,F)T3045CBP, and V(B,F)T6045CBP. Each device is offered in the power TO-220AB, ITO-220AB, and TO-263AB packages. With a wide range of current ratings from 10 A to 60 A and extremely low forward voltage drops down to 0.33 V typical at 10 A, the rectifiers are optimized for use in solar cell junction boxes as bypass diodes for protection.

All 45 V rectifiers feature a maximum operation junction temperature of 150°C and 200°C maximum junction temperature in DC forward current without reverse bias (t = 1 hour). The TO-263AB package offers a moisture sensitivity level (MSL) of 1, per J-STD-020, LF maximum peak of 245°C. The TO-220AB and ITO-220AB packages feature solder bath temperatures of 275°C maximum, 10 s, per JESD 22-B106, and are halogen-free according to the IEC 61249-2-21 definition.

Vishay's VJ Non-Magnetic Series MLCCs are manufactured with non-magnetic materials and are 100% safety-screened for magnetic properties before final packaging. The devices will typically be used in filter circuits for MRI equipment, implantable medical devices, ferromagnetic-sensitive instrumentation, electronic test systems, and high-end audio amplifiers.

Offered in 11 case sizes from 0402 to 3640, the VJ Non-Magnetic Series features high voltage ranges from 6.3 VDC to 3000 VDC. The devices offer a wide capacitance range of 0.5 pF to 56 nF (with C0G dielectric) and 100 pF to 6.8 microfarads (with X7R/X5R dielectric), and an operating temperature range of - 55°C to + 125°C. The capacitors provide a temperature coefficient of capacitance (TCC) of 30 ppm/°C from -55°C to + 125°C (C0G), 15% from -55°C to + 85°C (X5R), and 15% from - 55°C to + 125°C (X7R).
