MALVERN, Pa. - Nov. 18, 2011 - Vishay Intertechnology, Inc. (VSH: NYSE) today announced that it has received a 2011 China Market Electronic Component Manufacturers Award (CMECMA) by China Electronic Market (CEM) magazine in the "Passive Components" category.
CMECMA winners were determined by the results of the Purchasing Behavior Survey on China Electronics Manufacturers (PSCEM), held annually by CEM and CNTronics, under guidance of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT) of China. The purpose of the PSCEM is to help electronic component suppliers improve their services, products, technologies, and marketing strategies, while increasing purchasing efficiency for their customers.
For the survey, candidate manufacturers from seven different fields were nominated by a committee of experts. Design engineers, R&D managers, purchasers, and other qualified respondents were then asked to score the candidate companies on their performance in eight categories: brand awareness, time of delivery, product mix, technical support, product quality, advancement of technology, supply capability, and cost performance.
Winners were determined by total score, with three leading manufacturers and one manufacturer with the most growth potential recognized in each field. Vishay was named a leading manufacturer for its high marks in the "Passive Components" category. CMECMA winners were announced on Nov. 9 at the 78th China Electronics Fair (CEF) in Shanghai.
