ViewSonic Strengthens its Position in Projector Market with Additions to Product Lineup
SEATTLE, Oct. 24 -- ViewSonic(R) Corp. today fueled its projector market share momentum with five new DLP projectors that meet the diverse presentation and entertainment needs of classrooms, boardrooms and road warriors. This launch comes on the heels of tremendous growth for the company, as ViewSonic became the fastest growing projector brand in the market in the first half of 2007(1).
The new, affordable projectors - the PJ557D, PJ559D, PJ560D, PJ551D and PJ260D - all include Texas Instruments' BrilliantColor(TM) Technology, giving users the best display performance available to the mainstream market. BrilliantColor(TM) Technology provides richer, more lifelike images by using a wider range of the color spectrum, making presentations brighter and more dynamic than ever before.

PJ557D, PJ559D and PJ560D - Educational Value
For schools and universities that require A+ performance on a tight budget, the PJ557D, PJ559D and PJ560D combine ease of use and reliability with estimated street prices of $799, $899 and $1,099 respectively. These plug-and- play projectors feature an extended lamp life of up to 4,000 hours to reduce the total cost of ownership, while an integrated RS232 port provides PC remote access and integrated third party control systems for easy system administration and decreased downtime. Two five-watt built-in speakers bring multimedia presentations to life, while multiple screen modes such as Blackboard, Whiteboard and Greenboard reduce the glare on each of these specific surfaces. The projectors deliver clear video with a 1024x768 XGA native resolution, and provide bright images with 2,200 lumens for the PJ557D, 2,700 lumens for the PJ559D and 3,200 lumens for the PJ560D.
PJ551D - Budget-Friendly Projections
The PJ551D projector is available for an ESP of $649 and boasts 2,200 lumens of brightness. The projector includes several image quality features, such as a 2000:1 contrast ratio and a 1024x768 XGA native resolution to display crisp, detailed presentations and video. In addition, vertical auto keystone correction and manual lens shift ensure sharp images, as well as whisper mode to extend bulb life and reduce fan noise during important presentations.
PJ260D - Road Warrior Portability
With an ESP of $999, the PJ260D offers compatibility, ease of use and excellent image quality in a lightweight, mobile form factor that can be transported effortlessly. The PJ260D's quick and easy set up automatically synchronizes the input source, making the projector ideal for business travelers or teachers that move from room to room between periods. The projector boasts a high 1024x768 XGA resolution, 2,000 lumens and 2000:1 contrast ratio for clear, crisp images, while a remote control with built-in mouse capabilities and laser pointer allows presenters to highlight key points without interruption.
The PJ557D, PJ559D, PJ560D, PJ551D and PJ260D are available in November through authorized ViewSonic professional audio-visual resellers, distributors and solution providers.
