Video follows the Fortis line of lift trucks from concepting to testing to creation

(GREENVILLE, N.C., USA: May 26, 2009) Hyster Company (www.hyster.com), a leading lift truck designer and manufacturer in North America, recently produced a video chronicling the design of the Hyster FortisŪ series of lift trucks. The footage was filmed at the Hyster assembly plant in Berea, KY. With an inside look at the Fortis assembly process, from concept to creation, the video demonstrates the standards and commitment to quality behind each Hyster lift truck.

The video highlights the testing performed on each Hyster Fortis truck, a process that includes unparalleled virtual, bench, and field-testing equipment. Incorporating proven design processes and systems, each Fortis lift truck is offered with multiple powertrain configurations to meet specific application requirements and business objectives and to optimize productivity, dependability and cost of operations.

Also on display are the state-of-the-art manufacturing systems and processes in use at the Hyster plant in Berea, including automated-guided vehicles, manual and robotic welding, advanced powdercoat painting systems, ergonomic material handling, and computer-controlled manufacturing stations. The manufacturing and design advances allow the Hyster Fortis to improve dependability and lower operating costs in all applications.

Fully-tested through the Finite Element Method (FEM) to ensure ruggedness and durability, the H170-190FT series offers the strength and productivity needed when moving heavier loads. With a durable power train and mast design, turbocharged diesel engine, and enhanced hydraulics, the Hyster H170-190FT line of lift trucks features proven efficiency and superior durability.

Incorporating proven design processes and systems, each Fortis lift truck is offered with multiple powertrain configurations to meet specific application requirements and business objectives and to optimize productivity, dependability and cost of operations. The Fortis family of lift trucks, which covers a capacity range of 3,000 lb to 19,000 lb offers both cushion and pneumatic tire classes, with multiple engine choices consisting of gas, LP and diesel.
