Victor C. Colwell Elected President of AMCA International Inc.



Arlington Heights, IL USA - "Vic" Colwell, Vice President of Sales & Marketing, Loren Cook Company of Springfield, Missouri, elected today as 2011-2013 President of the Air Movement and Control Association International (AMCA International) at the association's 56th annual meeting held in Kauai, Hawaii USA.

Mr. Colwell has spent his entire professional career in the HVAC industry. In 1982, he joined ASHRAE, and became an active participant and strong supporter. Throughout the years, Vic has been an enthusiastic supporter of AMCA International, and an advocate for the health, growth, and integrity of the HVAC industry. Having been personally involved with AMCA International since 1993, he has served on many committees, including AMCA's Board of Director's, Marketing Committee, Audit Committee, Nominating Committee, Investment Taskforce, and more recently as a member of the Executive Board holding the positions of Director at Large, Treasurer and Vice President.

During his tenure as President of AMCA, Mr. Colwell promises to focus on increasing the acceptance of AMCA International's high standards in the Asian and European regions, as well as continuing to improve AMCA's relevance within North America. Other areas of focus for Vic will be educating young engineering students through further development of AMCA's University Awareness Program, and promoting AMCA's Fan Efficiency Grading Program (FEG), and how to leverage AMCA in a down world economy.

Mr. Colwell is a 1977 Graduate of Rockhurst University in Kansas City, Missouri. Following graduation, he worked five years as a mechanical contractor in Waco, Texas and Kansas City. For the next seven years, Vic was a manufacturer's representative for air conditioning and ventilation equipment. He then spent four years as a Regional Manager for Farr Company, a manufacturer of filtration products. In 1993, Vic joined Loren Cook Company of Springfield, Missouri as their Vice President of Sales and Marketing. When asked to characterize Vic's upcoming presidency with AMCA, Loren Cook Company Chairman and CEO, Jerry Cook, stated "I am confident that Vic will bring the same vision and enthusiasm to AMCA that he has to our company."

Vic and his high school sweetheart Candy, reside in Springfield, Missouri, and have been married since 1975. Both, Vic and Candy spend a lot of time with their son, Randy Colwell and his wife Jen; and their daughter Carrie Panique, and her husband TJ. They are the proud grandparents of Cooper and Katie Colwell and Cameron and Caden Panique. Vic also enjoys playing golf, water sports, and mentoring engineering students who tour Loren Cook Company.
