Vertical Turning of Large Workpieces of up to 300 mm in Length Weighing 25 kg

At EMO 2013, DMG MORI SEIKI will present the new CTV 315 linear, introducing the second generation of its CTV series. The vertical turning centre can machine workpieces with diameters of up to 300 mm, 210 mm in height and weighing 25 kg.

The generous work envelope offers enough space for the VDI 40 turret with 12 tool stations and additional tools or a milling spindle, which can be mounted on an optional tool carrier. The turret is also available as a DirectDrive VDI 50 version with driven tools and rpms of up to 10,000. The STEALTH design, which has been optimised for production environments, offers operators easy access to the work area and automation equipment due to its small footprint and the integrated15' SLIMline® panel.

In combination with the (optional) Y-axis travel and big Z-axis stroke, workpieces with diameters of 20 to 300 mm can be precisely machined, quickly and dynamically, thanks in part to a linear drive in the X-axis. It reduces non-productive times through acceleration of 8 m/s² and increases long-term accuracy. DMG MORI SEIKI's linear drives have a warranty of 60 months.

The CTV 315 linear is delivered with Operate 4.5 on SIEMENS 840D solutionline. Operate 4.5 is DMG MORI SEIKI's new platform for all machines with SIEMENS control, from entry-level to high-end models. Operate 4.5 encompasses a machine tool's complete automation technology, from drives to control. Additionally, Operate 4.5 offers a uniform user interface. Altogether, Operate 4.5 is a convincing, complete performance package for maximising machining productivity.
