GEA FlatPlate FP Series brazed plate hydronic heat exchangers offer a compact design along with light weight to provide units up to 80% smaller than other types of heat exchangers. Applications include hydronic heating, boiler applications, domestic hot water, radiant floor, snow melt and industrial processes.
The unique design features stainless steel plates with a special high efficiency, low fouling heat transfer surface. Plates are copper brazed at a high temperature and units are rated for 450 psi. Two model ranges are offered for applications from 20,000 to over 5,000,000 BTUH with capacities from 1 gpm to over 200 gpm. Models in the 5" x 12" range offer 1 to 60 gpm capacities and weigh from 4 to 30 pounds depending on the model. Models in the 10" x 20" range offer capacities from 20 to 200 gpm with weights from 32 to 230 pounds.
The light weight and compact size as compared to traditional shell and tube type heat exchangers save space in the total equipment package and simplifies installation. All models feature 3/4" to 2 1/2" male pipe thread fittings and mounting stud bolts as standard. Various types of mounting brackets are also offered.
The wide model range allows configuration to as low as 4 degrees approach temperatures. All units are UL listed and made in the USA. Nickel brazed versions are available for fluid applications which are not compatible with copper such as de-ionized water, solvents or others. Custom designs are available for special applications.
