Eugene, Oregon - Feb. 11, 2009 - VersaLogic Corp., a Eugene-based manufacturer of embedded computer products, announced today it has achieved certification to the ISO 9001:2008 standard. VersaLogic's decision to seek certification is part of an overall strategic plan for continued growth and expansion within the medical, defense and industrial electronics business sectors. The company has embraced this global standard to further its ability to assure customers of its commitment to superior quality, customer service and continual improvement.
To achieve ISO certification, VersaLogic leveraged its existing process approach to management and control of key business operations. Jeremy Green, Ph.D. VersaLogic's Quality Manager and Lean Six Sigma Master Black Belt, facilitated the certification efforts. "Very few internal changes were required to conform to the requirements of the standard. We have always designed our processes to meet the requirements of our customers and of our business, and have focused throughout our company's history on process performance and process improvement. Our business model aligns very well with the requirements of the standard. We are very pleased to be one of the first companies registered to the ISO 9001:2008 revision of the standard," said Dr. Green.
ISO certification continues to be increasingly important to competing in the Federal sector, as well as in the medical and industrial electronics markets, where VersaLogic has focused its business for the past 20 years. As VersaLogic moves into its fourth decade of providing embedded computers to its OEM customers, achieving ISO certification was a critical milestone.
