Press release date: January 11, 2012

PALO ALTO, Calif. - Verizon Wireless has begun deploying AnywhereCommerce's Rover(TM) device, a PCI certified magstripe reader and PIN entry POS (point of sale device) which is seamlessly integrated to their retail fleet of Motion Computing tablets.

AnywhereCommerce's Rover is mounted to the tablet enabling the full breadth of expedited line busting checkout. Customers can now use their credit card, check card, or PIN debit bank card for checkout. Verizon expects the line busting solution to increase customer through-put and enhance overall customer experience.

"Secure line busting checkout is becoming mainstream," says Mitchell Cobrin, CEO of AnywhereCommerce. "Retailers are reengineering and rationalizing their floor-space, AnywhereCommerce extends the traditional checkout lane and cash register to anywhere in or out of the store." The AnywhereCommerce suite is operating system agnostic with all the major operating systems including; iOS, Android, Blackberry or Windows. Additionally, AnywhereCommerce universally integrates with any mobile phone or tablet such as Apple's popular iPads and Samsung Galaxy Tab. AnywhereCommerce interfaces through the earjack audio port or the USB port. Cobrin added, "Consumers can See it, like it, buy it, right on the spot. Such retail innovation also allows the sales associates more time to 'sell' and be on the floor rather than stuck behind the traditional cash register, utilizing the store's labor force in a much more efficient, and effective fashion."
