WebEx Connect Unlocks Software Suite and Enables New Generation of Distributed Innovation with On-Demand Integration, Distribution and Monetization Platform

PALO ALTO, Calif. and SAN FRANCISCO, April 17 -- Web 2.0 Expo -- Veodia, the first provider of a browser-based, TV-quality video broadcasting service, and WebEx (NASDAQ:WEBX), the leading provider of on-demand applications for collaborative business, today announced that Veodia has joined the WebEx Connect Developer Network to make Veodia services available via WebEx Connect.

WebEx Connect, the first collaborative on-demand platform, will enable developers and customers to integrate multiple applications to create powerful collaborative business "mashup" solutions from best-of-breed web-based, on- premises and desktop applications. Veodia, the first high-end video broadcasting service based on MPEG-4 / H.264, enables business users and professional video bloggers to create and distribute live and recorded video over the Internet to thousands of viewers without special equipment, advanced video skills or upfront costs.

Veodia's high-end video broadcasting service caters to business users and professional bloggers in search of a simple way of creating and distributing TV-quality video while preserving full control and ownership of their content. That makes it a perfect tool for capturing training sessions, HR and executive announcements, marketing and corporate events, lectures, conferences, and performances. With just a Veodia account and a camera, anyone can start interactive broadcasts and distribute them live or on-demand over the Internet to thousands of viewers on computers, Apple TVs, mobile phones, and iPods. A publishing interface also allows customers to privately manage their content, publish it on blogs or intranets, and track viewers. Veodia's SaaS (software-as-a-service) platform for online video replaces the expensive in-house video publishing solution that previously required multimillion-dollar budgets, inter-vendor operability headaches and extensive IT support.

"We are very excited to empower WebEx Connect users with an easy way to create and distribute high-quality video to multiple playback devices," said Guillaume Cohen, CEO and founder of Veodia. "Combined with the WebEx Connect platform's powerful collaborative features, the WebEx Connect /Veodia solution is the ideal platform for large-scale, professional video, whether it is used to broadcast training sessions, corporate events, or product launches."

Veodia's SaaS Video broadcasting service is one of the many applications users will be able to access through the WebEx Connect Marketplace of applications. WebEx Connect will enable users to integrate data from multiple applications into collaborative workspaces, custom designed for their particular workflows and business processes. Unlike traditional transactional applications, WebEx Connect is designed to improve productivity by enhancing collaboration and interaction between individuals. By leveraging open Web 2.0 protocols and collaborative WebEx applications programming interfaces (APIs), WebEx Connect will make it easy to adapt on-demand, desktop, and enterprise applications to create composite, "mashup" applications.

"Tailored for professional users, Veodia's solution combines video quality, scalability and security with a convenient service model and an ease- of-use that removes the last barriers for massive adoption," said Shankar Iyer, vice president, WebEx Connect ecosystem. "We're very happy to offer Veodia's service to our WebEx Connect customers to meet their needs for high- end video broadcasting."

The WebEx Connect Developer Network provides the tools, training, resources and community that developers need to build and market applications for WebEx Connect. Developers can access WebEx Connect documentation, APIs, a "sandbox" development platform and join the partner program to access a prototype WebEx Connect client. WebEx Connect partner marketing services can help developers generate go-to-market strategies and leads for the applications on the WebEx Connect Marketplace.
