Vendavo Expands European Operations
Company Names Pierre Schmit Vice President and General Manager, Europe; Opens Offices in Geneva and London
PALO ALTO, Calif. and GENEVA, March 29 /PRNewswire/ -- Vendavo, the leading provider of price management software, today announced the expansion of its European operations to meet the growing demand for its pricing solutions in that region. The company named Pierre Schmit vice president and general manager, Europe, and opened its European headquarters in Geneva, Switzerland, and an office in London, England. Mr. Schmit will report directly to Vendavo's chief executive officer, Alan Crites.

Prior to joining Vendavo, Mr. Schmit spent more than 15 years in the enterprise software market, working with high technology companies in Europe, Asia and the U.S. Most recently, he served as a partner at ViewPoint Capital, a private equity firm specialized in enterprise software. Previously he was chief executive officer of Hyperwave, an intranet and knowledge management software company in Munich, and vice president, International with Tivoli Systems, a systems management software company. Mr. Schmit started Tivoli's business in Europe prior to its acquisition by IBM. He also served as vice president, International with software pioneer Cadre Technologies, and held senior positions with Apollo Computers (acquired by HP).
Mr. Schmit is a mathematician, holds Swiss and French citizenship and speaks five languages. He earned his Master's degree in Mathematics from the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology, and an executive degree in Business Administration from Stanford University.
