Avistar's hosted service delivers instant multi-party videoconferencing, repurposed by Veloci to answer specific professional requirements
SAN MATEO, Calif., Feb. 6 / / - Avistar Communications Corporation (NASDAQ:AVSR), has announced that it has partnered with Veloci Corporation, a specialist value-added reseller (VAR) of networks and rich-media communications, to build videoconferencing networks that address the specific needs of the legal and medical communities. Marketed as 'Veloci LegalNet, powered by Avistar' and 'Veloci MedNet, powered by Avistar', the networks offer turnkey multi-party videoconferencing, available at the desktop or as a room system, to legal and medical professionals throughout the United States.

Veloci LegalNet and Veloci MedNet both offer Avistar's multi-party videoconferencing with one-touch recording, and the ability to share documents and images. Veloci has deployed Avistar's patented bandwidth management software to ensure call reliability and manage traffic, so that videoconferencing does not disrupt other services sharing the network. Avistar's partnership with Mzima Networks, a provider of virtual private networks (VPNs) designed for rich-media traffic, maximizes call quality over the Internet. Services are priced per user and are delivered as a fully outsourced hosted service (SaaS).
Veloci LegalNet allows attorneys to connect with expert witnesses, collaborate on pleadings and motions, communicate with clients anywhere in the world, conduct depositions remotely, and engage videoconferencing for the myriad situations where it can be of benefit. Veloci MedNet allows doctors to connect with hospitals, specialists and patients in order to provide the fastest and most effective medical treatment.
