VT Miltope Introduces Two New Military Rugged Airborne Products at Army Aviation Convention


HOPE HULL, Ala., May 7 -- VT Miltope, a company of VT Systems, is introducing a 10 Port Layer 2 Rugged Ethernet Switch and Rugged Airborne Network Server for military airborne applications. These new products will be featured at the VT Miltope exhibit, booth 810, during the Army Aviation Association of America (AAAA) Convention, 9-12 May 2007 in Atlanta, Georgia.

The new Rugged Ethernet Switch -- 10 Port Layer 2 (RES-10L2) features two 10/100/1000BaseT and eight 10/100BaseT Ethernet ports that are auto-detecting, auto-crossover, and auto-polarity. The RES-10L2 supports Layer 2 functionality including Rapid Spanning Tree Protocol (RSTP), Simple Network Management Protocol (SNMP), Quality of Service (QoS), Internet Group Management Protocol (IGMP), Virtual Local Area Networks (VLAN), and Remote Monitoring (RMON).

The new rugged Linux based Rugged Airborne Network Server (RANS) supports application, file, web, multimedia or communications management server requirements. The RANS features a low voltage 1.8 GHz Intel(R) Pentium(R) M processor, 1 GB RAM, 16 GB solid state hard disk drive. Standard interfaces include 2 ea 10/100Base T Ethernet, 2 ea 10/100/1000BaseT Ethernet, RS-485, 16 ea general purpose avionic discrete lines (software programmable), and VGA, 2 ea USB 2.0 via maintenance hatch.

VT Miltope provides a complete line of rugged computer, network, and peripheral products utilized for air and land systems in commercial and military applications. The MESU and ANS are militarized versions of aviation products offered for the In Flight Entertainment systems on commercial airliners.
