Curbell Plastics, Inc. has updated their on-line technical library to include the latest grades and the most up-to date design information about DuPont(TM) VespelŪ plaque and rod stock. The new content is intended to help engineers specify the correct grades of DuPont(TM) VespelŪ shapes to meet their demanding application challenges.
VespelŪ shapes have a long history of use in critical service industries including aerospace, semiconductor, and scientific instrumentation. The polyimide material has been extensively tested and qualified by some of the most respected organizations in the engineering community including NASA's Jet Propulsion Laboratory and several U.S. Department of Energy facilities.
DuPont(TM) VespelŪ shapes are available in grades which have been engineered to perform in demanding environments including extreme temperatures, high loads, radiation, and even vacuum conditions. Applications for the materials include bearings, seals, and electrical components. A recently introduced grade of DuPont(TM) VespelŪ, the SCP family of products, helps to extend the capabilities of the material to meet even more demanding conditions.
In addition to new properties data, Curbell's on-line library now also includes information regarding how to recognize lot and batch control documentation, identification labels, and DuPont quality assurance test reports so that end-users can confirm that they are receiving authentic DuPont(TM) VespelŪ Shapes from an authorized DuPont distributor. These steps are intended to combat the presence of counterfeit materials that haven't been tested and certified at a DuPont quality control laboratory.
