August 11, 2011 - ASTM International Committee F41 on Unmanned Maritime Vehicle Systems will meet on Aug. 17, 2011, at the Walter E. Washington Convention Center in Washington, D.C. Meeting will take place in conjunction with the AUVSI Unmanned Systems North American 2011 Conference. Committee F41 is focused on development of standards and guidance materials for unmanned undersea vehicle systems and unmanned surface vehicle systems to facilitate interoperable, modular, and multifunctional family of platforms.

W. CONSHOHOCKEN, Pa., - ASTM International Committee F41 on Unmanned Maritime Vehicle Systems will meet on Aug. 17, 2011, at the Walter E. Washington Convention Center in Washington, D.C. The meeting will take place in conjunction with the AUVSI Unmanned Systems North American 2011 Conference. The F41 executive subcommittee meeting will begin at 7:00 a.m. on Aug. 17. in room 149A. In addition, all interested parties are invited to an open panel session on F41 at 5:00 p.m. in room 152AB. Capt. Duane Ashton, program Manager, PMS 406, PEO LMW, will speak at the session, which will include an overview of F41, an autonomy discussion and audience feedback on needed future standards development. Committee F41 is focused on the development of standards and guidance materials for unmanned undersea vehicle systems and unmanned surface vehicle systems to facilitate an interoperable, modular and multifunctional family of platforms. F41 subcommittees include:
o F41.01 Autonomy and Control;
o F41.02 Communications;
o F41.03 Mission Payload Interface;
o F41.04 Data Formats; and
