Universal Flow Monitors, Inc. announces its Universal® series of vane-style flowmeters for flow consistency, reliability and low maintenance in hydrocarbon process industry applications including oil and gas separators, glycol contactors and pump seal flush.
The Universal® vane meters are designed to measure and monitor flow rates of a variety of fluids and are individually calibrated with the viscosity specified by the customer. They can be used when local flow indication and mechanical flow switching, without or without an optional pot-driven 4-20 mA transmitter, are desired. The meters provide flow indication to assist in problem diagnosis and respond immediately if flow goes too low.
Vane meters in the Universal® series can be used to monitor the discharge of water and light hydrocarbon condensates from separators in applications such as natural gas wells. In glycol contactor operations, the vane meters can be used to assure the required flow of glycol to remove hydrogen sulfide from sour crude. In seal flush systems, the meters can provide the flow needed to cool and lubricate the pump seal. The vane meter meets the requirements of American Petroleum Institute standard API 682 for seal flush of centrifugal and rotary pumps.
The Universal® vane meter series includes SN meters for maximum flows from 0.5 GPM to 20 GPM (2 LPM to 75 LPM), MN meters for flows from 10 GPM to 160 GPM (60 LPM to 600 LPM), LN meters for flows from 80 GPM to 500 GPM (300 LPM to 1800 LPM), and XHF meters for flows from 500 GPM to 1500 GPM (2000 LPM to 5600 LPM).
Universal® vane-style flowmeters are easy to install, operate and maintain. They mount in line and in any orientation, with no straight pipe runs required. No bypass is required for maintenance. The meters and switches are rated for all classes, divisions and groups of hazardous locations. The meters have CSA, CE and Cenelec certifications.
Universal Flow Monitors offers vane-style flowmeters to meet a wide range of industrial requirements including corrosion resistance. Meter bodies, internal moving parts and seals are available in a variety of construction materials to fit the application.
