Universal Electric Corporation's Organizational Update Includes Several Key Promotions


Thomas J. Ferrie and Lance P. Sabados are both promoted to new roles as Vice Presidents

CANONSBURG, PA- Universal Electric Corporation (UEC) is pleased to announce that Thomas J. Ferrie has been promoted to Vice President of Finance, and Lance P. Sabados has been promoted to Vice President of Sales.

Tom joined UEC in 1997 as Controller, and has gained increasing responsibilities, most recently as the Director of Finance. He has shepherded the company's financials through significant growth and has been instrumental in many new initiatives for the organization. Under the new structure, Tom will retain all of his existing accounting and financial responsibilities, and will also oversee the IT/IS Groups. Tom holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting from Robert Morris University, and is a licensed CPA in Pennsylvania.

Lance most recently served as Director of Sales for UEC, joining the organization in 2007. Prior to his role with UEC, Lance was a Vice President of Sales for Danaher Corporation, working in their Josyln Hi-Voltage Division. Under Lance's direction, Universal Electric has experienced significant sales growth in both the domestic and international markets. He has a vast knowledge of sales and marketing in the electrical industry, and holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from Grove City College, and a Master of Business Administration degree from Case-Western Reserve University.

In addition, David S. Grafton has been promoted to Director of Engineering. His most recent role with the organization has been as the Design Engineering Manager. Previous experience includes positions with IBM, Synopsys, and Eaton Corporation. Since accepting a position with UEC in 2011, he has made significant improvements with quality and process standardization for the organization. Dave holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from The University of Pittsburgh, and a Master of Business Administration degree from Robert Morris University.

David W. Skeans has been named Director of International Sales. This promotion is in recognition for the successful global expansion efforts, which David has led since joining UEC in 2008. Prior to his role at Universal Electric, David was most recently Vice President of Sales with Danaher Power Solutions (Cyberex, United Power and Current Technology brands). He has a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from Ohio University and a Juris Doctor from the University Of Akron School Of Law.

Mark A. Swift has also been promoted to Marketing Manager and will retain the Business Development function as part of the new role. In addition to his expertise in power distribution, Mark has a vast knowledge of marketing, product development, and sales in the cable and telecommunications industries, from several key roles with Armstrong Utilities and Consolidated Communications. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Business and Computer Science from Grove City College, and a Master of Business Administration degree from Geneva College.
