In his new role, Benoit will be charged with responsibility for all Universal software products, including its successful Dimensions Line Level range. "I am very much looking forward to assuming my new position within Universal," comments Benoit. "I am confident I can contribute to Universal's proven track record in this domain, building on the established benefits of Dimensions to optimise the assembly equipment investment of our customer base around the world. In particular, I value the opportunity to work with teams across Universal to further the reach of its innovative software range."

Benoit joined Universal in 1999 and since this time, has held a variety of Information Technology roles. Having most recently worked as IT Manager for Asia, Benoit's former department will now report to current Financial Controller for the Asia region, Li Wei Ko. In his new role, Benoit's focus on guiding Universal's software product development roadmap will be characterised by a close working relationship with customers and third party software providers. As Product Manager, Benoit will report directly to Universal President, Jeroen Schmits.

Commenting on the new Product Manager, Schmits claimed: "Greg's appointment is great news for Universal's Software Products Division. Universal's software strategy is currently progressing at an extremely positive rate and the formation of a Product Team for Software Products really highlights our commitment to associated end-user markets. With Greg now at the helm of the Product Team, I am confident that we will continue to raise the bar for the provision of competitive, total line solutions."

Positioned at the heart of Universal Instruments' software products roadmap, the Dimensions range is aimed at supporting the surface mount assembly lines of Universal customers around the world. The software equips manufacturers with the tools necessary to enhance the utilisation and efficiency of their Universal production lines, and marks a continuation of Universal's trademark expertise in this area.
