ROMOLAND, CA-Engineers in search of a small surface mount transformer supporting telecom device data and speech applications will find the SM501-1 Telecom Transformer from Datatronic Distribution, Inc., delivers performance, quality and reliability while meeting stringent electrical industry standards.

The surface mount SM501-1 Transformer is suitable for a wide range of BS6305 Impedance Class A non-speech data and Class B voice applications in telecom equipment, laptops, modems, instrumentation and more. Its dielectric strength is tested to 4600 Vrms and meets various international safety standards including UL60950-1.

The SM501-1 Transformer provides space-efficient isolation between sensitive electronics and telephone lines. Its high dielectric strength helps safeguard equipment users by protecting them from electrical shock.

The SM501-1 Transformer's symmetrical design means that there is no real primary or secondary winding. Key specifications include: impedance at 600 ohms (both primary/secondary), turns ratio is 1:1, 3.8 H shunt inductance and 6 to 7 mH leakage inductance at 1 kHz.

The surface mount SM501-1 Transformer's comes in a 12.5 mm (0.50 inch) by 9.6 mm (0.38 inch) rectangular package. The seated height is 7.36 mm (0.29 inch). Recommended lead spacing is 0.60 mm (0.024 inch). Lead terminal finish is RoHS compliant; solder meets J-STD-020D. Its superior performance in a small package makes it ideal for high density circuit designs.

The sealed SM501-1 is vacuum encapsulated to withstand high temperature soldering and operating temperature environments from -20ºC to +85ºC and a storage range of -40ºC to +85ºC. The SM501-1 comes in tape-and-reel packaging for auto insertion equipment.

In 10,000 piece quantity, the SM501-1 is available beginning at $.59 each. Lead-time is stock to six weeks. Volume OEM pricing is available upon request.
