U.S. International Trade Commission Establishes Timetable for Investigation into Infringement of P&S Patents on GFCIs

Syracuse, NY, December 10, 2007 - Pass & Seymour/Legrand (P&S), a leading provider of electrical wiring devices and home systems, today announced that the United States International Trade Commission has established a timetable for the investigation into allegations of unfair competition in the importation of ground fault circuit interrupters (GFCIs).

The order provides that the Judge presiding over the investigation will issue an initial decision by September 24, 2008 and the ITC Commissioners will issue a final decision by December 24, 2008. A date for the trial before the Judge has not yet been set, however it will likely be in early June 2008.

P&S seeks an order precluding the importation of the allegedly infringing GFCIs and their sale within the United States after importation. The order requested would be effective against the manufacturers as well as brand resellers and distributors of the alleged infringing GFCIs.
