Princeton, N.J. - June 26, 2007 - Tyco International Ltd. (NYSE: TYC BXS: TYC) announces Patrick Decker (click here for image), 42, as the newly appointed president of Tyco Flow Control, a business segment of Tyco and one of the world's largest providers of flow control products.
Decker joined Tyco in May 2003 as the chief financial officer of Tyco's Plastics & Adhesives business. Most recently, he served as chief financial officer for the Tyco Engineered Products and Services (TEPS) segment of the company since January 2005. He worked closely with the Tyco Flow Control and Thermal Control businesses which represented a very significant part of the TEPS portfolio. He also collaborated with Tyco Flow Control's leadership in the development of the Evolution to Excellence strategic initiative and related imperatives.
Prior to joining Tyco, Decker spent 13 years at Bristol-Myers Squibb (BMS) in a series of key roles both in the United States and internationally where he gained extensive experience in global finance and business development. He spent three and a half years as regional finance director for BMS in Puerto Rico and another four years in Bangkok, Thailand, as the regional finance director for Asia/Pacific. He then returned to the United States as vice president of global finance and business development for the Mead Johnson division of BMS. He began his career as an auditor for PricewaterhouseCoopers.
Decker is a certified public accountant and holds a bachelor's degree in accounting and finance from Indiana University. He will be based in Princeton, N.J.
