Press release date: February 24, 2011

Holland, Ohio (February 24, 2011) - A two-day FastTrack training program designed for plastics engineers will be held during the Society of Plastics Engineers (SPE) ANTEC 2011 conference. The topics have been designed to enhance knowledge levels regardless of tenure in the plastics engineering discipline.

Produced by industry thought-leader Plastic Technologies, Inc. (PTI), the FastTrack training program will be held on May 4-5, 2011 at the Boston Marriott Copley Center Hotel, Boston, Mass. Participants can elect to sign up for one or both days.

"The course material has been designed so that it is of value to veterans, industry newcomers and anyone in between. The instructors have built teaching modules around both 'principles' and 'fundamentals' in relevant topics areas. For the veterans, we view this as an excellent refresher. For the newcomers, the information will help add to their knowledge base," said Scott Steele, vice president, PTI.

Course options include: plastic materials, processing fundamentals; injection molding theory, practice, design; coextrusion principles, practices; thermoform process technology; thermoplastic elastomers; mold design, building fundamentals; injection molding advanced concepts; engineered plastics extrusion; reheat-stretch blow molding fundamentals, and screw design fundamentals.

"We've kept in mind that many plastics industry professionals don't have the luxury of being away from their responsibilities for more than a couple of days, so we've made the training modules more intensive. The objective is to provide targeted information in just one or two days," Steele said. "The instructors are technology experts with a thorough knowledge of the subject matter. This will facilitate the learning process."

Discounted, early registration (until April 15th) is available for SPE members: $795 for one day, $1295 for the entire two-day training program. Non-member rates also are available. Fees include materials and networking breaks. To register, or for more information: www.antec.ws or call 419 867-5413.
