SmartOnline(TM) Series 3-Phase units now with Economy Mode option

Chicago, IL (September 23, 2009)-Continuing its Green Initiatives, Tripp Lite has developed its latest line of SmartOnline(TM) 3-Phase UPS Systems to incorporate an Economy Mode function. Operating in this mode, the SmartOnline 3-Phase series boasts an industry-leading efficiency rating of up to 97%. Economy Mode yields a significant reduction in operating costs through lower heat output, reduced cooling requirements and associated electrical savings.

Tripp Lite has a tradition of offering solutions that help businesses operate in a more environmentally responsible manner. Its design philosophy is focused on developing products that represent a value-added strategic investment for customers rather than a direct expense. The company's state-of-the-art 3-Phase UPS technology exemplifies this design philosophy, with substantial potential for lowering the corporate IT carbon footprint. Tripp Lite's 3-Phase UPS Systems contribute toward a sustainable business model based on reduced energy consumption, lower greenhouse gas emissions, and reduced stress on overburdened power grids.

Key Features and Benefits:

o Up to 97% efficiency rating in Economy Mode across all load levels
o Provides energy efficiency and cost savings without sacrificing power protection
o Double-conversion mode is utilized only when utility power quality demands it
o Modular 3-Phase models provide N+1 and parallel capabilities
o Wide range of models with capacities from 20kVA to 160kVA provide global applications

"In 2006, roughly 1.5% of energy in the United States was consumed by data centers," said Dave Slotten, Tripp Lite Director of Product Management. "We felt that this was a significant statistic that we could have some effect on. Tripp Lite's 3-Phase units not only provide premium protection for mission-critical applications, they also perform at a level of efficiency that reduces overhead, improves financial performance and allows businesses to operate in an environmentally responsible way. We're proud to say we've developed such a cost-effective solution that offers so many benefits to the corporate and natural environments."
