Toyota Ranked Highest in Quality and Value in Independent Research for Third Consecutive Year

IRVINE, Calif., April 12: Toyota Material Handling, U.S.A., Inc. (TMHU) today announced its lift trucks have been named number one in quality and value in an independent survey conducted by Reed Business Information. Toyota dominated the categories of quality and value for the third year the study has been conducted.

The annual survey of Modern Materials Handling magazine readers resulted in responses from 435 industry decision-makers involved in the purchasing of material handling equipment, products, technologies and services.

The goal of the study was to better understand the current state, trends and practices in manufacturing, warehousing and distribution environments. Respondents represented companies from a wide range of industries, including: wholesale trade, electronic equipment, food and beverages, retail trade and fabricated metals.

"It is a tremendous honor to be recognized by the people who use Toyota products on a daily basis," said Shankar Basu, president and CEO of TMHU. "Our goal is to offer high-quality, durable and reliable products. This type of recognition underscores the focus Toyota always has put on quality, and strengthens our resolve to continue to offer the highest quality products to our customers."

This recognition is one of many recently received by the company. In January, Toyota Industries Corporation (TICO) announced it has been named the world leader in materials handling by both Logistik Journal and DHF magazines. FORTUNE magazine also named TICO to its top 50 list of the World's Most Admired Companies in 2007. The majority of lift trucks sold in the United States by TICO's subsidiary Toyota Material Handling, U.S.A., Inc. (TMHU) are manufactured at the Toyota Industrial Equipment Manufacturing (TIEM) Columbus, Ind. plant.

Figures published in the magazines show that Toyota's materials handling business has enjoyed a record-breaking year, achieving global sales of more than 190,000 units.
