DANVERS, MA - Tough yet flexible, Permatex® brand Gasket Makers from Devcon are available in a variety of formulations to replace conventional gaskets in even the most demanding industrial applications. These reliable, noncorrosive, form-in-place compounds require no mixing and cure at room temperature. More versatile than conventional gaskets, they not only form to any size and shape, but also offer better performance. They are available in three technologies - elastomeric rubber, silicone rubber, and anaerobic - that resist weathering and thermal cycling, and will not shrink or crack.
The Right Stuff® Gasket Maker is a low-odor thixotropic paste that resists oil and withstands continuous service temperatures from -75° to 450° F. Ideal for OEM assembly lines, this elastomeric rubber fills gaps to 0.25" and offers superior adhesion and flexibility to accommodate joint movement. Typical applications include gearboxes, stamped sheet-metal covers, compressors, pumps, valve covers, and oil pans. It is available in tubes, cartridges, and PowerBead(TM) applicator cans.
Permatex silicone-rubber Gasket Makers seal rigid or flexible flanges. Nonflammable, they withstand continuous service temperatures as low as -65° F and as high as 600° F. Formulated for outstanding oil resistance, these low-odor, nonsagging pastes fill gaps to 0.25". Ultra Black® Gasket Maker is a formula that is eight times more flexible than cut gaskets when cured (360% elongation). Ultra Copper® RTV Silicone Gasket Maker offers 350% elongation and is three times more oil-resistant than conventional (acetoxy) silicones. Ultra Grey® Gasket Maker, a formula for more rigid flanges (120% elongation), is designed for closely spaced bolt patterns and higher load conditions. Ultra Blue® RTV Silicone Gasket Maker, formulated for bonding oil-contaminated metals, is three times more oil-resistant than conventional silicones and eight times more flexible (360% elongation) than cork/composite gaskets. Typical applications for Permatex silicone Gasket Makers include pump housings, machine tools, compressors, gearboxes, valve covers, etc. These products are available in a variety of containers, including tubes, cartridges, and PowerBead(TM) applicator cans.
Available in three formulations, Permatex anaerobic Gasket Makers are designed to prevent movement in rigid assemblies. These gels cure between close-fitting machined metal surfaces in the absence of air and withstand continuous service temperatures as low as -65° F and as high as 400° F. Anaerobic Gasket Maker is ideal for on-the-spot emergency repairs and resists many industrial and automotive chemicals. High Temperature Anaerobic Flange Sealant is particularly suited where maximum temperature and chemical resistance are required. This formulation permits clamping loads to be maintained for strong, leakproof assemblies. It seals all surface imperfections and eliminates costly retorquing operations. More flexible, Anaerobic Flange Sealant is designed for use on rigid, machined flanges that move in service.
