Touch Enabled WinForms Controls Showcased at the BUILD Windows Conference

DevExpress WinForms Controls will allow software developers to exploit the capabilities of tablet / slate PC devices while fully leveraging existing platform investments.

GLENDALE, Calif. - DevExpress.com is proud to announce the upcoming release of DXperience v2011 vol 2 - feature complete WinForms Presentation Controls and Reporting for Visual Studio .NET. Scheduled for Q4, 2011, the release will introduce touch support for the following DevExpress Controls on the WinForms platform:

WinForms Grid

WinForms Ribbon Bar

WinForms Outlook Style Navigation Bar

WinForms Charting

WinForms Data Editors Library

WinForms Tree-List

WinForms RichEdit

"Touch support is essential to software developers targeting non-traditional PC devices such as the Samsung Win8 tablet debuted at BUILD Conference in Anaheim," said Julian Bucknall, Chief Technology Officer at Developer Express. "Although we will direct the appropriate resources to specifically target WinRT, the programming platform for Metro apps, our philosophy is 'Why wait for 8(TM).' We will continue to innovate on the WinForms platform and touch-gesture support and updated Metro Style Themes is the beginning of our efforts in this regard."
