Toshiba Optimizes New PCs for the Windows 8 Touchscreen Experience

New Devices Include Company's First Ultrabook Convertible, a Touchscreen All-in-One PC and Premium Touchscreen Entertainment Laptop
IRVINE, Calif. - Toshiba's Digital Products Division (DPD), a division of Toshiba America Information Systems, Inc., today announced several touchscreen PCs designed for Windows 8, including a pioneering Ultrabook(TM) Convertible device, an All-in-One Desktop PC and a premium entertainment laptop.

Satellite U925t: Tablet Meets Ultrabook - in a Single Pioneering Device
The Satellite® U925t Ultrabook Convertible combines the performance and form factor of an Ultrabook with the ease-of-use of a tablet and is ideal for on-the-go consumers and professionals. The device can be used in two modes: as a tablet or as an Ultrabook made possible by its unique sliding hinge. From tablet mode, users can slide the display back and tilt it up to reveal an LED backlit raised tile keyboard and Synaptics ClickPad(TM) with Windows 8 gesture support and use the device like a traditional Ultrabook.
Less than 0.8 inches thin and weighing only 3.2 pounds[1], the Satellite U925t features a lightweight, soft touch surface, offering the portability of a traditional Ultrabook as well as a long battery life rating. Its vivid 12.5-inch diagonal HD touchscreen display[2] with IPS technology provides impressive viewing angles whether in tablet or Ultrabook mode, while Corning® Gorilla® Glass resists scratches. Equipped with a speedy 128GB solid state drive[3] and a responsive 3rd generation Intel® Core(TM) i5 processor[4] with Intel Rapid Start technology, the Satellite U925t offers ultra-responsive performance. The device also includes a front HD webcam for video chatting and a three megapixel rear camera with autofocus for taking photos and video in tablet mode.
The Ultrabook Convertible also comes packed with a complete range of connectivity options including 802.11 b/g/n Wi-Fi®, Bluetooth® 4.0, Intel Wireless Display[5] as well as a media card reader, HDMI® port and two USB 3.0 ports[6], one of which supports USB Sleep & Charge[7]. In addition, the Satellite U925t features a full range of sensors, including an ambient light sensor, 3D accelerometer, 3-axis gyroscope, a 3-axis magnetometer, GPS and near-field communication (NFC) capable of a range of wireless data transfer applications.
Satellite P845t Premium Touchscreen Laptop
The Satellite P845t offers consumers a premium Windows 8 touch experience in a traditional clamshell laptop design. Featuring a 14-inch diagonal HD touchscreen display with edge-to-edge glass, the Satellite P845t incorporates everything needed for an amazing entertainment and powerful multitasking experience, including ultra-responsive 3rd generation Intel Core processors and Intel Rapid Start technology, 6GB of DDR3 memory and a spacious 750GB hard drive. Dressed in an elegantly textured aluminum body in Champagne Silver, the laptop is not only stylish, but extremely durable.
The Satellite P845t comes equipped with a comfortable raised tile keyboard and a spacious ClickPad with Windows 8 gesture support, giving the user a choice in how they want to interact with the OS. The laptop also includes harman/kardon® stereo speakers with SRS Premium Sound 3D sound enhancements, multiple USB 3.0 ports for faster data transfers plus USB Sleep & Charge and Toshiba Sleep & Music[8], two technologies that give users the freedom to power up their smartphones and enjoy music from their MP3 players, even while the laptops are powered down. Blending performance, style and affordable pricing, these PCs feature 23-inch diagonal full HD 1080p resolution touchscreens ideally suited for navigating Windows 8 and Windows apps as well as watching movies, playing games and getting work done.
The LX835 PCs are fully equipped with 3rd generation Intel Core processors, up to 2TB of storage[9] and up to 8GB of memory, two USB 3.0 ports plus four USB 2.0 ports and superior audio from Onkyo® speakers with SRS® Premium Sound 3D(TM).
