Tompkins Associates Names China Expert Michael Zakkour as Principal with Technomic Asia

Global Supply Chain Consulting Firm Increases Reach in Asia
RALEIGH, NC, January 4, 2011 - Michael Zakkour, an expert in strategic market planning and sourcing, has joined Tompkins Associates as a principal through its Asian and European division, Tompkins International, and its subsidiary in China, Technomic Asia.
Zakkour is the former Managing Director of ChinaBright Star LLC and was Vice President of Beijing-Gongmei, a manufacturing conglomerate in China. He has provided strategic and sourcing advice to more than 100 multinational firms.
Jim Tompkins, President and CEO of Tompkins Associates, notes that Zakkour will be a valuable resource for clients looking to expand into Asia. "Having lived and worked in China for more than a decade, Michael has in-depth expertise in US-China political and trade relations, manufacturing, sourcing and supply chain management, China distribution logistics, and sustainable growth initiatives in China," Tompkins says.

Zakkour was recently featured as a speaker at: the New York Bar Association's Asian Affairs Committee; Thompson-Reuters' annual China Conference; Columbia Business School; and the Wharton School of Business China Conference. Additionally, he serves on the board of directors of the Asian Financial Society and is Lecturer in Residence at The China Institute in New York City.
