Tinnerman Appoints Hemingway as Vice President of Advanced Engineering


SOUTHFIELD, Mich. (June 18, 2007) - Tinnerman, a world leader in offering automotive and industrial equipment manufacturers connection engineering solutions that simplify and revolutionize the way products are assembled, has appointed Todd L. Hemingway to vice president of advanced engineering.

In this role, Hemingway will direct the company's advanced product creation and development center in Southfield. He will lead a team of engineering professionals in the creation of specialized fastening and connection systems that help solve some of the most challenging assembly issues for customers worldwide. Hemingway reports to Jeff Steiner, executive vice president and chief marketing officer of Tinnerman.

Prior to this position, Hemingway served as director of international business development for Troy, Mich.-based DriveSol Worldwide. While there, he developed short- and long-term product engineering, marketing and sales plans, established global ties with major automakers and secured business opportunities in Asia, North America and Europe.

"With more than 20 years of experience in progressive management, engineering and sales, Todd's background made him an ideal candidate for the position," Steiner said. "His expertise in these areas will allow Tinnerman to continue to create innovative solutions in connection engineering that provide unique ways to effectively help our customers."

Earlier, Hemingway served as senior director of advanced engineering of sales and business development for Auburn Hills, Mich.-based Metalforming Technologies Inc. (currently Global Automotive Systems located in Royal Oak, Mich.) - a producer of complex metal systems and assemblies in the North American automotive market.

From 1984 to 2005, he also held positions of increasing responsibility with Teleflex Automotive, the former Comcorp Technologies, A.O. Smith Inc., Quincy Industries, Inc. and General Motors Corp.

Hemingway has a Bachelor of Science degree in engineering science from the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor.
