Florence, Ky., Sulzbach, Germany, Shanghai, PR China, - Ticona Engineering Polymers collaborated with GenMove USA LLC to help transform its MultiGoal(TM) products into a more flexible and stronger line of physical education equipment for youngsters of all ages.

The MultiGoal from GenMove of Charleston, S.C., is a unique cylindrical goal that enables scoring on all sides, increasing player confidence and allowing for a variety of games and activities. It consists of sleeves, posts and a series of arms, which are made with Hostaform® HS15(TM) acetal copolymer (POM) from Ticona and injection molded by APM (American Plastic Molding Corp.) of Scottsburg, Ind.

"Ticona was the perfect material supplier to help develop our new MultiGoal equipment line," said Grant Scheffer, GenMove chief executive officer. "As the global leader in POM innovation, Ticona worked with GenMove to help us develop an injection molded frame that uses high-strength Hostaform HS15, a superior material that can stand up to even the most enthusiastic play, day-in and day-out."

"The MultiGoal is a prime example of the type of sports application Ticona had in mind when we changed the backbone chemistry of Hostaform POM," said Vincent Notorgiacomo, Hostaform/Celcon® POM product manager - Americas. "During the application development process with Ticona, GenMove determined that Hostaform HS15, with its enhanced stiffness, improved toughness and resilience, is the ideal polymer."

"Hostaform HS15 from Ticona, combined with the unique design of the MultiGoal product, is helping GenMove achieve its business objective to deliver more robust performance and longer life that exceeds the expectations of its customers," added Alan Wilson, key account manager, Ticona.

The GenMove MultiGoal is for youth of all ages, from pre-kindergarten through high school, as well as after-school programs and physical education for individuals with disabilities.

Now in its 50th year, Ticona continues to deliver polymer innovations that give customers a competitive edge across sports and other major industries, including automotive, aerospace, electrical, electronic, medical, appliance, information technology, communications, chemical processing and consumer products.
