Highest-Level Security Certification Meets Stringent Information Assurance Requirements for Government, Defense and Enterprise Customers

MILFORD, Conn. – ThinklogicalŪ LLC, a worldwide leading provider of secure high performance KVM signal extension and switching systems for video-rich big data computing environments, announced today that its MX48, VX80, VX320A and VX640 models fiber-optic KVM matrix switches have achieved Common Criteria certification at Evaluation Assurance Level 4 (EAL4).

Adopted by fourteen countries, Common Criteria is a set of international standards (also known as ISO/IEC 15408) that provides a common framework for evaluating security features and capabilities of information technology products. EAL4 is the highest assurance level that is recognized globally for KVM products.

The stringent Common Criteria evaluation process certifies products for use in highly sensitive and classified environments, and is the result of an independent review and analysis of a product's security capabilities against a defined set of requirements. Many government, defense and intelligence agencies, as well as security-sensitive industries such as oil and gas, utilities, healthcare and financial services, require or recommend that products purchased be Common Criteria certified.

Thinklogical products that have achieved EAL4 certification previously include the VX40, VX160 and VX320V switches, making Thinklogical the only KVM systems provider offering a full line of Common Criteria-accredited fiber-optic matrix switches and video routers supporting a wide range of applications sizes and types.

"By obtaining Common Criteria certification, Thinklogical has addressed the customer requirement for innovative, high-performance switching solutions that meet or exceed the information assurance standards demanded by security-conscious government agencies and businesses today," said Joe Pajer, president and CEO of Thinklogical. "In addition, this accreditation provides our worldwide channel partners with a technologically advanced and highly competitive product portfolio to offer to their customers. Thinklogical remains the clear leader and vendor of choice for organizations that require the highest level of security, performance and reliability when managing and distributing sensitive video-rich big data in mission critical applications."

Thinklogical's MX and VX series products provide secure switching of keyboard, video, mouse, audio, and peripheral signals with data path isolation and partitioning for use in highly secure environments such as command and control facilities and emergency operations centers, allowing users to work simultaneously on multiple networks at different security levels.

The MX and VX series matrix switches and accompanying KVM extenders leverage Thinklogical's patented Multi-Rate Transmission System (MRTS) technology. MRTS enables multiple data streams of uncompressed video, audio and peripheral signals to be multiplexed and transmitted over a single fiber optic cable to receivers at distances up to 80 km (nearly 50 miles) at an industry-leading 6.25 Gbps bandwidth. This allows for a highly-scalable architecture that delivers video content, digital and analog signals and data with no latency or degradation associated from limited bandwidth, compression, or copper cables.

The Thinklogical MX48, VX80, VX320A and VX640 matrix switches are available now from Thinklogical and authorized distributors. More information about the Common Criteria can be found at: Details of the specific product certifications can be found at the following links:
