Press release date: November 28, 2005

LAWRENCEVILLE, NJ - Datacolor, an internationally known name in color technology, showcases its latest and most exciting innovations in color calibration, ColorFacts 6.0(TM) and SpyderTV(TM), at The Electronic House Expo (EHX) Fall 2005, November 9 - 11, in Anaheim, CA, Booth N0. 411. SpyderTV also is nominated for a Multi-Room Audio/Video (MRAV) Award. Held in conjunction with EHX Fall 2005, MRAV awards recognize significant contributions to the multi-room audio and video market. Winners will be announced on the show floor November 9th (http://www.ehxweb.com/).

A key event for all "connected home pros" - those who service today's connected homes, from architects and electrical contractors to computer systems integrators and consumer electronics retailers - EHX provides the perfect venue for Datacolor's dynamic breakthrough products for home theater color calibration.

SpyderTV (www.spyderTV.com) is an easy-to-use, highly portable package that scientifically measures contrast, brightness, color, tint, and color temperature display presets. Device-independent and non-invasive, SpyderTV determines the optimal settings for the display of any CRT, plasma, RPTV, LCD or DLP display screens in just 30 minutes. With little more than a DVD player, laptop and USB port, professional installers can use award-winning Spyder technology to accurately and easily adjust menu sliders onsite, dramatically improving picture quality according to ambient conditions. SpyderTV can then be used at regular intervals for quick and easy check-ups that ensure displays are optimally tuned or when new components are added into the system.

For more advanced diagnostics, Datacolor ColorFacts Professional 6.0 (Click Here for more info) is an integrated, Windows-based hardware and software bundle designed to calibrate and correct color on plasma, LCD and wide screen TVs as well as front-end projectors for video images. A powerful new ColorFacts feature delivers feature-rich remote access far beyond raw control of the display as well as direct integration with the ColorFacts application itself. ColorFacts is designed for safety as well, preventing end-users from accessing areas of the display intended for professionals only.

The products' R & D gurus Mark Hunter and Heath Barber, who joined Datacolor from professional home theater pioneer Milori, note that Datacolor keeps the professional installer in mind by developing essential hardware/software products that meet application-specific needs, from sophisticated diagnostics to faster fine-tuning that's still scientific.

"ColorFacts Professional 6.0 offers a brand-new way of performing advanced display device calibrations remotely. For quicker, non-invasive diagnostics, the Datacolor SpyderTV helps installers as well as end users easily and accurately improve the display on virtually any monitor," states Datacolor Technical Director of Home Theater Products Mark Hunter. "The end result is that consumers will see a dramatic difference in their display, which will ensure overall satisfaction with their purchase. This is good news for the expanding home theater market," Hunter adds. In a February 2005 report, Forrester Research noted that US consumers' lust for the new big, flat TV sets is unabated. A significant percentage of those polled, 39%, said their next TV will be a flat-panel plasma or LCD TV set. Setting the pace for HDTV penetration to grow past 50 million American homes in the next five years.
