Melbourne - Following the official opening of the ANCA office located in Shanghai China during March this year, ANCA has been very successful in winning a number of large multi-million dollar export contracts. The honorary Ian Macfarlane, Minister for Industry, Tourism and Resources visited the ANCA China office on October 26th, 2005 to discuss the ANCA success in the China market.

The ANCA China office which was launched on the 21st of March 2004 is located in the Shanghai's Waigaoqiao Free Trade Zone. This area was selected for a number of strategic reasons, including excellent access to transport and logistics, with a vast infrastructure already in place, as well as large industry base around Shanghai. The new branch office boasts 600 square meters of floor space, and house's a demonstration centre, as well as application and service engineers, and a sales and administration organization.

"Opening this office in Shanghai has demonstrated our strong commitment to the Chinese market and positions ANCA within easy reach of our target customer base", says Linsey Siede, Group General Manager ANCA. "It has allowed ANCA to develop and maintain relationships with our customers and the necessary government departments. It is also providing our customers with more value because we can meet their requirements faster".

China has been the largest importer of machine tools since 2002, and is a rapidly growing market for the high precision ANCA CNC grinding machines designed and built in Australia. Since the office was opened, ANCA has been very successful at winning a number of export orders into China, including two separate multi-million dollar contracts valued at over $2 million each.

Minister Macfarlane and his entourage spent 2 hours at the ANCA China facility, inspecting a number of the demonstration machines produced by ANCA at its headquarters located in the Melbourne suburb of Bayswater, and discussing various aspects of the business with the knowledgeable ANCA China staff.
