New HD Video 14 x 4.5 Wide Angle Lens Now Included in Lineup.
Amsterdam, Netherlands - At this year's IBC Conference and Trade Show, Thales Angenieux is showcasing the industry's leading line of Extended Range Super Zoom HD Video Lenses. Included in the offering are the recently introduced 14 x 4.5 HD Video Wide Angle Lens, along with the high performance 19 x 7.3 ENG and 26 x 7.8 Telephoto HD Video Lenses, each of which offer the longest zoom range in their respective categories.
"As high-def production continues to gain traction, our line of HD Video lenses offer cinematographers and DPs the same choices as if they were using film lenses," said Dominique Rouchon-Picariello, Sales Director, Thales Angenieux. "The options for camera movement, placement and creative control are there and can readily be met with these three lenses, now even more with the addition of the 14X Wide Angle Zoom."
The new 14 x 4.5 HD Video Wide Angle Lens joins Angenieux's 19 x 7.3 and 26 x 7.8 HD Video Lens offering. The new lens offers a focal range of 4.5 to 63mm and an aperture of f/1.8 (4.5 to 41mm). The lightweight 14 x 4.5 HD Video Wide Angle Lens weighs just 4.6 pounds and is available in semi servo and full servo versions, as well as with 16 bit digital connection for zoom and handle connection.
The 19 x 7.3 HD Video Lens offers precision optics and a focal range of 7.3mm to 139mm. Weighing only 3.7 pounds, the lens's 19X zoom range allows close-up images with optimized definition and clarity. In addition, the lens' wide angle capability is ideal for panoramic like wide shots not possible with conventional ENG lenses.
Angenieux's 26 x 7.8 HD Video Telephoto Lens features a focal range of 7.8mm to 203mm and an aperture of f/2.2. Ideal for today's high-resolution digital and HDTV cameras, its light weight and compact size make it a perfect selection for EFP and use in auxiliary shooting situations (i.e. cranes, trucks, stabilization units, etc.).
Thales Angenieux is also actively involved in the 3D Live Research Program sponsored by the French Government and conducted by Orange, Thales Angenieux's role consists in the furniture of twin lenses to facilitate 3D image capture and offer TV viewers the most comfortable 3D images.
