USA

Press release date: August 8, 2011

Houston, TX - Texas Memory Systems, Inc. announces that the RamSan-70 450-GB PCIe card executes 1 million random IOPS in a 512-byte, 100% read, with one server. Texas Memory Systems will be demonstrating the RamSan-70 in the SNIA booth at the Flash Memory Summit this week.

This demonstrates the high performance levels achieved by RamSan® products. Using the more common 4K sector size, the RamSan-70 performs 600K read IOPS. In write-intensive scenarios, the RamSan-70 will sustain 700 MB/s and 175K IOPS (4KB). This level of performance is possible given the highly parallel design of the RamSan-70 and the extreme performance and reliability delivered by the exclusive Series-7(TM) Flash Controller. Like all RamSan products, all Flash management is handled internally without burdening the host server's CPU.

"Our ability to deliver over 1 million IOPS from a single server clearly demonstrates our commitment to providing the ultimate performance to our customers," said Dan Scheel, President of Texas Memory Systems. "We are excited to demonstrate this benchmark at the upcoming Flash Memory Summit. We take pride in our ability to not only talk about our high performance, but also prove it."

The combination of the World's Fastest Storage® and industry leading reliability make RamSan products the Best Flash Systems. Through TMS' extensive testing and vetting of Flash technologies, a comprehensive suite of reliability features has been developed and built into each RamSan product. Each RamSan in the Series-7(TM) family of products features chip-level RAID, patented Variable Stripe RAID(TM), and enhanced ECC. Other Flash SSD vendors only offer "RAID-like" protection, opening the door for unscheduled maintenance events as well as unexpected loss of high performance operation. Texas Memory Systems understands the limitations of Flash and designs products that deliver consistently high performance and industry-leading reliability.
