GREENSBORO, N.C., June 4, 2008-Tencarva Machinery Company, a Greensboro, N.C., distributor of fluid handling, compressed air and vacuum systems and related products, advanced nine places from 46th to 37th in the recent rankings by the national publication, Industrial Distribution, of its "2008 Big 50" list of top U.S. headquartered distributors, based on sales and earnings.
Tencarva's 2007 sales increased to $150.7 million, up from $124 million, as a result of the efforts of more than 250 employees in the 22 branch offices in the eight states where Tencarva operates.
Rod Lee, Tencarva's president, reports that Tencarva had "remarkable growth" in 2007 as a result of the sales in the Hudson Pump division in Florida, plus the addition of the first full year of sales for the divisions represented by the Engineering Equipment Co. and Municipal Division of emoryWilson Co. acquisitions in 2006.
