Press release date: May 1, 2012

Teledyne DALSA will demonstrate camera and frame grabber support for CLHS - the AIA's latest machine vision protocol - at The Vision Show in Boston.

Teledyne DALSA, a Teledyne Technologies company and a global leader in machine vision technology, announced today a major milestone in its ongoing support for the AIA's newest interface standard, Camera Link HS(CLHS). Teledyne DALSA will demonstrate its commitment to the new standard and will showcase CLHS versions of the Falcon2(TM) camera and Xcelera(TM) PX8 frame grabber at the upcoming AIA Vision Show in Boston from May 8-10, 2012.

CLHS is a G3 standard (JIIA, EMVA and AIA). Through the AIA, a 15 member CLHS committee of independent companies is leading the continued development and deployment of the new standard. Updates on the ratification process and details on development requirements can be found on the AIA's website.

Increasing resolution and faster frame rates have caused cameras for machine vision systems to steadily grow in their need for bandwidth. Camera Link HS is the next generation interface standard that addresses the needs of all machine vision applications. It is designed from a system point of view, ensuring the ability to create low cost cameras and frame grabbers, while fulfilling the ease of use, flexibility and data reliability demanded by customers.

Camera Link HS builds on the key strengths of Camera Link and adds new features and functions to meet customers' demands. The standard will be ratified in May 2012 and features the following benefits:

o Low Cost Solution, Off-the-Shelf, Multi-Vendor Components
o Scalable Bandwidths from 300 MB/s to 16 GB/s
o Flexible Cables
o Reliable Data Delivery
o Industry Supported
o Direct Fiber Optic Conversion Possible

"Teledyne DALSA has a long history of leading the industry in the adoption of new communication interfaces," said Mark Butler, Teledyne DALSA Senior Product Manager. "We look forward to the upcoming release of CLHS in May as we continue to work with the AIA CLHS committee and other camera and frame grabber manufacturers to deploy the new interface."

Product Demonstration and Details
